Cardno Entrix Apoya a Comunidades Amazónicas

En colaboración con nuestros clientes, el Consorcio Shushufindi, Petroamazonas EP y Schlumberger, Cardno Entrix contribuyó en la mejora de la educación juvenil en la comunidad Dayuma de la región amazónica del Ecuador. On September 20, 2019, the employees and employers held elections for leadership positions within the company’s Labor Committee, 2019 - 2020 period.
Employees voted for their representatives, whom will be in charge of communicating their needs and requirements to senior management, as well as to the human resources department, in order to improve working conditions, companionship and teamwork.

Cardno Entrix Supports Amazon Communities

In collaboration with our clients— the Shushufindi Consortium, Petroamazonas EP and Schlumberger— Cardno Entrix contributed towards improving young students’ education in the Dayuma community of the Ecuadorean Amazon region. Through our clients, Cardno donated computer equipment and furniture benefiting the Dayuma Educational Unit, San Miguel Basic Education Public School, and the Jose Maria Egas School, among others.

Crustaceans and Mollusks Monitoring

In 2016, Cardno ENTRIX completed the Environmental Impact Study and Environmental Management Plan for the Development, Construction, and Maintenance of the Facilities; Dredging, Navigation Channel; and the Operation of the Public Deep Water Port located in the Guayas province, near Guayaquil, in Posorja. This strategic development project undertakes international standards in operations and sustainability, and as such, seeks to conserve the local mangrove ecosystems, among others.

Aligned with this goal, Cardno ENTRIX conducted the biotic monitoring of crustaceans and mollusks in the mangrove areas near the port’s building site in December 2018. This monitoring project complies with the Environmental Management Plan and the terms of the project’s environmental license, as well as analyzes the populations of existing crustaceans and mollusks in the area.

Mangrove Reforestation Project

Cardno Latin America is currently collaborating with and supervising a Mangrove Reforestation Project, led by the CALISUR Foundation, in the Island of Puná, in the Guayas province of the Ecuadorian coastal region. The Reforestation Project consists of the vegetation of 65 hectares of mud embankments, suitable for the growth of mangroves, in which more than 100,000 red mangrove (Rhizophora sp.) seedlings will be planted by the year 2020.

New species of frog discovered in the Cordillera del Cóndor, Ecuador

Cardno Latin America works in the conservation and monitoring of biodiversity in areas of great ecological importance, such as the Cordillera del Cóndor in Ecuador. Thus, together with a team of scientists from the National Polytechnic School, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and experts from the Ecuadorian Museum of Natural Sciences, Cardno conducted faunal assessments on the upper Machinaza River located between 1,200 and 2,200 m above sea level, on the mountainous forests of the western slopes of the Cordillera del Cóndor, located in the south-east of the country.

Nueva especie de rana descubierta en la Cordillera del Cóndor, Ecuador

Cardno Latinoamérica trabaja en la conservación y monitoreo de la biodiversidad en zonas de gran importancia ecológica, como es el caso de la Cordillera del Cóndor en el Ecuador. Es así que conjuntamente con un equipo de científicos de la Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador y expertos del Museo Ecuatoriano de Ciencias Naturales, se realizaron evaluaciones faunísticas en el alto Río Machinaza localizado entre 1.200 y 2.200 m de altitud, en las laderas occidentales de la Cordillera del Cóndor, correspondiente a los bosques montanos del suroriente del país.

Protecting Wildlife

This past June, Edgar Paucar, Environmental Monitor at Cardno Latin America, worked along with two other people from the wildlife rescue brigade team, to rescue and release a caiman crocodilus that was trapped in a platform in the Sucumbios Province in Ecuador.

Proyecto de Reforestación de Manglares

Cardno Latinoamérica está colaborando y supervisando un proyecto de Reforestación de Manglar, liderado por la Fundación CALISUR, en la parroquia Puná, provincia del Guayas en la región costa del Ecuador. El proyecto de Reforestación comprende en forestar 65 hectáreas de manglar, en las cuales se tiene prevista la siembra de más de 100.000 plántulas de mangle rojo (Rhizophora sp.) hasta el año 2020.
